24/7/12 - Last week a friend of mine died after his lung transplant failed and his funeral took place today on Tuesday 24th July 2012.
Like me he was a magician and his funeral was pretty unusual in the fact that it involved a puppet show, Magic show, Disco and generally a good old party to celebrate his life.
I ended the day by having a barbecue on the beach with some friends and sending off a sky lantern in his memory.
A timelapse of the evening can be found here - www.youtube.com/watch?v=LfJBKl-f_P0

15/7/12 - I took this photo from the deck of the Aurora just as we were getting ready to sail, You can see a Costa ship sailing out of Venice, it squeezes between the islands as it heads into the Adriatic sea.
14/7/12 - This imppressive monument is what greets you when sailing in and out of Messina Harbour, the text on the base is Latin - 'vos et ipsam civitatem benedicimus' which translates to 'bless you and the city'.

13/7/12 - Here is the view from the hill over looking Messina, the city lies in the foreground, then the Harbour, further away is the Straight of Messina and finally the mountains in the background are mainland Italy. You can just see the ship Aurora in the harbour

10/7/12 - Here is another view of Messina Cathedral, in Sicily, its quite an impressive building, I like the fact that the walls are mainly white while the detail is in the ceiling and other areas.
